Musee Georges Pompidou, Paris

Saw three more photos of Martin Kersels at the Georges Pompidou, with the theme "Gravity." Came around the corner and there were about 15 people looking up at Martin, who I was sorry to see had become quite overweight. The museumgoers included an attractive young woman who was quite amused.

Indeed, she was doing what for a French person in a museum would qualify as "laughing her head off."

Actually it was interesting. I came around the corner and there were the 3 photos and I knew it was Martin before I took a closer look. The size and format and placement created an expectation which was then fulfilled, as it turned out, correctly.

Naturally I did not miss the chance to strike up a conversation. "Il etait un ami de moi a San Diego. Californie. Nous roulons a la terre a cafe ... en plain air. Ca c'est avant cette debut, naturellement."

She smiled and nodded in agreeable, knowing assent.

"Il desassemble un bicycle entierment, et le rassemble, et ca marche," I concluded, no doubt definitively cementing Martin's reputation in France for all time. You know how word gets around.

Special note: To those of you who have arrived here searching for the Martin Kersels home page, my apologies. This obviously is not that home page, which at the time of writing could not be found, but which is located here
