Climb the hill, cars speeding by to work. smell of coffee from front porch of stone house. All houses stone. Queen Anne's (wild carrot flower) lace at town border. Sun not yet up. Brightly lit contrails and airplanes flying in various directions.
The church bell rings 6 am then a few minutes later rings it again. Swifts dart out from the building tops. Fastest bird there is. Gates of a house are topped by miniature models of les bories, the historic stone huts of yore.
Buzzing bees in a dense patch of lavender, working hard before dawn. Mosquitoes (male) grouping above hedges as sun lights up the tops of the castle. Two snapshots of the Inn's menu on the way back -- a small theft. Postal workers behind La Poste before the day's work... it's Saturday.
the fragrance of melons and fruit of Nadine's fruits. Various no-parking signs. Layers of distant mountains and a hot air balloon above the valley.
