Echo Platoon
by Richard Marcinko and John Weisman

Once again, it's TTT (Tag the Tangoes) time for Big Dick and his band of merry fun-loving death-dealing Navy Seals. This one has them somewhere on and around the Black Sea, dealing with a thinly disguised George Soros. I never knew he was a bad guy! There are also some random russians and irate iranians thrown in for good measure.

I hate to admit it, but I guess I have a weakness for these comic-book shoot-em-up adventures, even though the plots are total hogwash, the techniques morally reprehensible, and the political outlook full of it up to the eyebrows and beyond (FOIUTTEAB).. I wouldn't recommend them for the squeamish or for anyone who doesn't like to read a lot of made-up Navy acronyms like FUBAR, SNAFU, and BOHICA. What can I say but IFTFA (I find them funny anyway)

Forgive me for a little skepticism, but when Dick went into combat barefoot, I didn't find it believable. Especially when he went into such length in an earlier episode about how to tie your shoelaces in a knot instead of a bow, so that they never come off.

WTH. Abandon those pretensions, kick off your shoes, click on over to amazon.com and order Echo Platoon. You know it's got to be better than jumping out of a perfectly good airplane.
