After getting DWG.2 I had to get the other DWG. It's an incredible deal to be able to get them both at the same time. Some of the information will be dated, but one of the reasons the web has been such a success is that you CAN deconstruct someone else's site, see how they did things, and share. You can ask someone to look at some problem you've been having realizing your design, and they can actually help you.

It's a book anyone can read for ideas on how to develop large sites.
There are some great ideas, one is a 'content guide' similar to a style guide, which outlines all the different kinds of content that will and will NOT be included in the site, not just in the initial design, but after that, as the site grows. With a large scale site, maintained and updated by more than one group, evidently you don't only get scope creep, (Wouldn't this be a great job title? "Hello, I'm Scope Creep for this project") you get information architecture creep or slide or mutate so eventually your navigation or sense of where you are or what's in it can crumple. And the content guide seemed to be one way to get a handle on that.
All in all the book will probably not be disappointing, it'll give you a good start on developing the lists of questions you need to ask, and chances are there'll be one idea or technique which will repay both the purchase price and the time spent reading the book many times over. On that basis, highly recommended.
A warning, though, reading it on the beach may attract librarians of the other sex.
