Buying cheese.

I was in line at the cafeteria. There was a large selection of fruit, mostly honeydew melon and a few chunks of what appeared to be cheese.

It was more cheese than you would eat at a meal, maybe 2 pounds, about the size and shape of a slab of bacon. Covered with cellophane and an illegible price tag. I got lots of melon even though I dont like it much, and one of the cheese slabs.

When we got to the checkout, the clerk picked up the cheese, looked at it and named a large price. It was either $100 or $400. Then he said, lets see if this includes any rice powder and examined the label. Yes, he said, it has rice powder mixed in, so it will be $2,500.

I didnt get mad but I was a little bit annoyed. I explained that there was no way I was paying that much for lunch. I was tempted to insist he sell it for the price as labelled, but even that was ridiculously expensive for cheese. And in the meantime he had illegally removed the label from the cheese.
