Going on camping trips is one of my favorite things in the world. I just love everything about camping: the smell of roasted marshmallows; the sound of crackling bonfire; the scary stories; and most especially the stars in the skies.
I love stargazing so much so I looked for ways to make stars of my own for my room. No, I am not talking about glow in the darks.
Xerox machines. Apparently, they can be used to make for a starry starry room. Here are some guidelines if you wish to make your own starry ceiling.
Materials: Xerox machine; bond paper (lots of them); talc powder, and cleaning materials. The last materials are needed after doing your experiment. Make sure to clean your Xerox very well.
Procedure:
- Sprinkle talc powder on the glass surface. Note, however, that there is no need for the glass surface to be entirely covered.
- Once you have a pattern, press the “Start” button.
- Leave the cover of the Xerox machine open. This will give an effect of a night sky filled with stars.
- You may change the pattern of the talc on the glass surface if you wish.
- Clean the Xerox machine’s glass surface when you are done with the experiment.
- Tape the pieces of paper on your ceiling. You can even add some mobile planets hanging on your ceiling.
